Servo only - no fan

I have a Kamado Joe, and I normally control the temp (when cooking) with small changes to top vent only.
Would it be possible to run the Mini v3 with no fan and the servo connected to the top vent (damper)?

Technically possible, but structurally more complex. Also very sluggish from a control point of view. I don't see any advantages over fan control.
Not DAMPER but SERVO. Otherwise you will not use the full control range. With DAMPER, the servo is just the secondary actuator (connected via actuator linking algorithm).
